We Swung on the Swing all Day premiered during resolution 2003. It draws on the memories of a group of ladies and takes the audience back in time to a beach party during a summer holiday in Italy.
We Swung was devised in collaboration with community based performers as well as professional dancers. This is an intergenerational work mixing both young and old performers, their share experiences and memories. Furthermore, in We Swung...dance styles as diverse as contemporary and social dance stand side by side with spoken text, film and photographic projections, thus making it a true multi-media work.
We Swung...is accompanied by Cyrus Gabrysch's and Maurizio Meterangelo original soundtrack.This is interspersed with music from the 1930's-60's, live band music, Italian songs, swing and disco music without forgetting the perennial Raffaella Carrá and her "Tuca, Tuca".
